2012-The Year Of Expanded Witness
Acts 1:1-11 (NIV)

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” - Acts 1:8

As we begin the brand new year of 2012, it is important for the church to reassess the effectiveness of its witness in the world. This reassessment must begin with individual believers taking a serious, prayerful and honest look at the impact of their Christian witness in the world.

Shortly before he ascended to heaven, Jesus told his disciples that once they had received the power of the Holy Spirit they would become witnesses for him beginning in Jerusalem and spreading to every part of the world. Today, every Christian still has a responsibility to be a witness for Jesus. There are still many who have not heard the good news that Jesus is able to save you.

How will those who have not heard find out? They will only find out through the witness of believers. The world needs to hear Christians talking about Jesus and see Christians living for Jesus. Christians today need to demonstrate the mind, the attitude and the heart of Christ in the world through their daily activities and their interactions with others.

This year, I encourage every believer to join me and the Living Water family as we seek God for a fresh anointing of God’s Spirit so our witness in the world can expand. We desire to have a greater, bigger, larger witness in the world. We want God to use us more than He ever has before to help others come to Jesus. We want God to use us to help those who are lost to receive salvation. We want God to use us to help those who are bruised and battered to receive the healing and deliverance only Jesus can offer. We want God to use us to help those who feel defeated to know that in Christ we have victory.

We know an expanded witness must begin with our posture and our walk in the world so join us as we ask God to create in us a heart that is more pure and a mind that above all desires to please God. Join us as we ask God to help us walk in holiness and righteousness and to give us boldness to tell others about Christ. Join us as we ask God to help us demonstrate a love that is pure, sacrificial, unconditional and forgiving even in the midst of persecution. Join us as we ask God to help us count it joy to suffer for the cause of Christ. Join us as we ask God to give us the courage to go wherever his voice leads us.

It is my prayer that God will bless and keep each of you in his care and that He will expand your witness in the world in this year of 2012.

Now, if you have not yet come to Jesus, I encourage you to do so. You can trust him. You can give all your cares and concerns to him for he cares for you (I Peter 5:7) and his yoke is easy and his burden light (Matthew 12:28-30). Simply humble your heart and with sincerity pray the salvation prayer on our web page. Then, as quickly as possible connect yourself to a Christian church. If you live in the area, we would love to see you at Living Water.

Now, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, may God’s peace rest upon us all.

In Jesus' name, AMEN.
